Where does the President watch new movies?

I mean, he obviously doesn't just go to the local movie theater... so does he have his own big screen in the White House or something?

Where does the President watch new movies?ms stress

The White House has had a private screening room for many years. There was even a made-for-cable movie about this; see the link below.

Where does the President watch new movies?home theater system opera theater

Is a 3 year old too young to go to the movies?

I want to take my 3 year old son to watch Happy Feet, but I am not sure if 3 is too young. He can watch an entire cartoon movie at home. I just don't know how the movie theater enviroment will affect him. Any advice?

Is a 3 year old too young to go to the movies?opera mini

Is he a quiet kid with a good attention span? (There are 3 year olds who are.) If he is, then sure, take him. But PLEASE take him to an early afternoon showing, when there will be fewer people there. And, if he gets fussy, take him out. The only way to find out how he will react is to do it.

And, don't change the pattern. Even if you are enjoying the movie, take him out of he starts acting up. That's the only way he will learn how to act in a movie theater. 3 year olds are smarter than people give them credit for. He will catch on after awhile.

Good luck!

Is a 3 year old too young to go to the movies?passions soap opera opera theater

Well, it is a good experience.
My husband always takes our 5 %26amp; 3 year old to the movies and they have a blast. I think any younger than three can get difficult.
Took my 3 year old to see Monster House and amazingly enough he sat transfixed throughout the whole thing. Took him to see Cars and he could not have cared less. Depends on the kid. I have had some good and some bad experiences at the theatre with him. Just be prepared, but you might be pleasantly suprised.
Sometimes they are too young, only you as their parent can know hae they may or may not behave (based on how well they sit through a movie at home)--If you take them my advice is to sit near the exit, so If they do act up you can leave quickly and quietly without distrupting anyone else.
It really depends on the kid because when my niece was little I would take her to movies all the time. She was 2 and would sit there the whole time and do really good but my 3 yr old is too busy!! We tried taking her to see cars when she was 2 1/2 and she drove us crazy!
The time spansion span of a 3 year old is very little. 15-20 minutes into the movie, he would probably get bored and restless. Two hour movies are not for tots, even if its a child movie.
I take my 3 year old all the time, he loves it. The only thing was the theater was really dark before the movie started and he didn't like that. Just buy him a big bucket of pop corn (if he likes pop corn) and sit back and listen to him laugh out loud. That's the best part........If you get there and see that he's not enjoying himself you could always leave.
I think he will have fun.
well, i have a 2 year old and he is a major pain in the movies, but my son is the type to never stay still and he is not into tv. but my friends son loves t.v and will just sit there. but yes i think you should take hime. test it see how it goes.there will most likely will be plenty of other kids there cause it is a kids movie . i say take him, if he is good with watching cartoons he should be good with the movies and he will be amazed
No that isn't to young, he will probably have a great time and never forget the experience. Have fun.
It will be dark and loud. How does your son handle the dark and loud noises? Find out how long the movie is. Do you think he can sit still that long? If you really think he is up to it then take him.. Just be sure to go to a matinee when there will be other people with small kids there, and be prepared to leave before the movie is over if necessary. And don't get mad at him if you have to. He may be able to go and enjoy it, but 3 is still pretty young and even if he can do it at home, he may not be ready for the theater. Only way to find out is to try it.
DO U THINK HE WILL BE ABLE TO SIT THROUGH THE WHOLE MOVIE??...I THINK YOU SHOULD TAKE HIM ESPECIALLY TO A KIDS MOVIE I TOOK MY DAUGHTER FOR THE FIRST TIME AROUND THE AGE OF 3, AT FIRST SHE WAS SCARED BECAUSE IT WAS DARK AND THE VOLUME AT THE MOVIES IS LOUD, BUT ONCE THE MOVIE ACTUALLY STARTED SHE WAS REALLY GOOD.
Be prepared to leave if he starts getting fussy. There is no better way to ruin the experience for everyone else in the theatre than have someone else's kid do it for them.

Worth a try, but remember that memories won't become permanent for another year or two. It will merely be a trial more for you than him.
As long as he can be quiet and not disturb other people during the movie its probably fine. You probably go to the movie anyways and if he gets bored then just take him home.
It's not too young in my opinion. You may want to be aware that theatres are VERY loud. Both my children where a little overwhelmed with the sound when they first went. Also, bring (or buy) healthy foods in case they do become distracted and you need to keep them seated.
419
Give it a shot. Here's my advice. Take him during the day (when it is cheaper and less crowded). We have a theatre near us that shows movies when they have been out for a long time and it's only like $3.00 for each of us. Don't take him near what would be a nap time for him (if he still takes naps). My son is 4 and he usually is pretty good. Don't give him too much to drink before the movie (so there aren't frequent potty runs). Hide something in your purse to snack on. This way if it isn't working out with him, you don't spend a lot of money on the whole adventure. Good luck!
I took my oldest daughter to the movies when she was 2. I brought in her carseat, a sippi cup, and a blankie. I filled a small cup with sorted popcorn (no seeds). She sat on her carseat (so theater chairs didn't fold on her), ate pop corn, and watched the movie like a big person.

It will depend on your childs natural temperment in public I think.
No its perfectly fine I believe..its needed for even a 3 yrs old small child...that makes him see the world around him..

see we know a thing ..its actually..always the way you bring up a child..n if you really want to make him stay at home and keep him confined..that will not going to give him a better of what he should start learning..why do we people bring children all the toys n play things ..its only that the childs starts knowing things be aware of it..he gets to learn things out of it...and 3 yrs isn't that small an age to keep him confined still..you should surely give him the experience..it will have its value...
Take him, but go to the matinee so you don't pay so much lol.

That way you won't be too disappointed if it doesn't work out.

Should I download a movie, that's out in theatres without paying for it?

The nearest movie theatre is miles away, I have no way of seeing Hitman, The Mist, and Beowulf("I am Beowulf" is a rip off of "This is Sparta!") I have no car, and everyone I know who does have a car is to much of a film snob to go with me to watch those movies. Public transportation is not an option either, because I am to proud to ride a bus, and am afraid of being seen. I can't get a ride either. I want to go pay for a ticket, because I am against piracy, but can't. Should I download the movies. I don't want to wait till they are out on blu ray either. I want to watch them now, and besides someone can ruin the ending, I didn't watch Fight Club in theaters and some Mexican ruined the ending. Same thing with 6th Sense some Mexican ruined the ending. I am a film student and stealing a is blasphemy to my profession. What should I do, What would muhammad do? WWJD?

Should I download a movie, that's out in theatres without paying for it?opera singer

Downloading the movie without paying for it is stealing. None of the excuses you gave would justify stealing. Also, you overlooked the possibility of using public transportation, citing that you are "too proud" to use it. There's nothing shameful about paying the fare and riding the bus. In fact, in these times of high fuel prices and global warming it should be encouraged. The truly shameful thing is that you apparently look down on people who ride the bus as evidenced by the fact that you are "afraid of being seen" on one. Taking a bus to a movie theater is a perfectly honorable thing to do. Stealing movies off the internet is not.

Has anyone seen a good movie lately?

I'm eagerly awaiting the new movies that come out around Thanksgiving because there doesn't seem to be anything good in the theaters.... or at least there's nothing left to see... Who can recommend a good movie? Maybe even something to rent?

Has anyone seen a good movie lately?lyric opera

These are a few of my faves that all should be available for rent:

1. After Hours (1985) -- "Paul Hackett (Griffin Dunne) embarks on a trip to New York City's SoHo district in hopes of hooking up with a recent acquaintance, the beautiful Marcy Franklin (Rosanna Arquette). But Paul loses all his money, and just to get back home he must endure a night of kooks, psychotics, punks and an angry mob trying to kill him. The supporting cast includes Linda Fiorentino, Teri Garr, John Heard and Catherine O'Hara, with Martin Scorsese directing."

2. Danny Deckchair (2003) - "Loopy Australian truck driver Danny (Rhys Ifans) hatches a novel way to escape his drab life after a fight with his girlfriend: He ties large helium-filled balloons to his deckchair and floats away into the sky. But a violent thunderstorm sends him hurtling out over the Outback, where he lands (as in the Wizard of Oz) in a small town where no one knows him. Meanwhile, the news media is in a frenzy about Danny's fantastic disappearance. "

3. Under the Lighthouse Dancing (1997) -- "Six old friends -- Harry (Jack Thompson), Emma (Jacqueline McKenzie), Juliet (Zoe Bertram), Louise (Naomi Watts), David (Aden Gillett) and Garth (Philip Holder) -- spirit away to an island for a short holiday, not knowing that Harry and Emma are about to elope. As they all scramble to make the event memorable, they also learn that Emma's gravely ill, and this romantic adventure may just be her last hurrah."

4. Beautiful Girls (1996) - "When Timothy Hutton returns to the small town he left behind, erstwhile friends, lovers and the scary thought of settling down swirl around him. A friend's unapproachable cousin (Uma Thurman) and the winsome teenager next door (Natalie Portman) afford differing glimpses of two possible futures. Director Ted Demme's smartly written, slice-of-life film offers a funny look into the male mind."

5. Flesh + Blood (1985) - "All's fair in love and war in this swoony-but-gritty drama from filmmaker Paul Verhoeven. A band of mercenaries led by Martin (Rutger Hauer) abducts Agnes (Jennifer Jason Leigh), the daughter of the feudal lord who cheats them out of their money. In spite of the other mercenaries' complaints, Martin grows to love Agnes, who's waiting to be saved by her beloved. Co-stars Tom Burlinson and Jack Thompson."

6. Bubba Ho-Tep (2003) - "Elvis Presley (Bruce Campbell) is an elderly resident in an East Texas rest home; seems he switched identities with an impersonator years before his "death" and then missed his chance to switch back. The King teams up with Jack (Ossie Davis), a fellow nursing home resident who thinks he's John F. Kennedy, and the two old codgers prepare to battle an evil Egyptian entity that's chosen their long-term care facility as its happy hunting grounds."

7. Chocolat (2000) - "An iconoclastic single mother (Oscar-nominee Juliette Binoche) and her young daughter move to a village in France and open a chocolate shop -- that's open Sundays -- across the street from a church. At first, Binoche's rich, sensuous desserts scandalize the town, but soon the villagers welcome the newcomers with open arms. Judi Dench, Lena Olin and Johnny Depp co-star in this 2000 Best Picture nominee."

8. The Count Of Monte Cristo (2002) - "A beautifully photographed rekindling of the classic Alexandre Dumas story. Edmond Dant猫s's (Jim Caviezel) life and plans to marry the beautiful Mercedes (Dagmara Dominczyk) are shattered when his best friend, Fernand (Guy Pearce), deceives him. After spending 13 miserable years in prison, Dant猫s escapes with the help of a fellow inmate (Richard Harris), cleverly insinuates himself into the French nobility and plots his revenge."

9. Defending Your Life (1991) - "After Daniel Miller (Albert Brooks) crashes his BMW convertible into a bus, he's transported to "Judgment City," where he meets the love of his life, Julia (Meryl Streep). Unfortunately, Daniel needs to defend his life on Earth before he can ascend to heaven with Julia. He frantically attempts to explain the positive things he's accomplished, but soon realizes that Julia may be too good for him."

10. Devil In a Blue Dress (1995) - "In this compelling neonoir set in 1948 Los Angeles, war veteran "Easy" Rawlins (Denzel Washington) is looking for work. When a stranger asks him to locate a missing woman, it sounds like a surefire way to snag some quick cash. But Rawlins gets more than he bargained for and soon becomes entangled in a murder mystery."

Animation rock and roll cartoon movie in the early 80`s?

It was a movie I saw around 82. It was about generations of a family.The animated cartoon was rock music related and showed this family growing in their dreams and talents through their family line. The ending was awsome and so unexpected the end of the family line was a girl with all the talents they possessed it was awesome to see their struggles and triumps.Now when I saw this at the theaters I was 14 so I dont know if Ill like it as much now but Id sure like to see it again and turn my kids on to it if I do. Should I have reported to management the homeless person begging in the theater?

I went to the movies on Saturday. I was in the lobby. This was the area before you had to show your ticket, so anybody could get to it. A homeless woman approached me and asked me if I had a few dollars so they could get something to eat. I didn't have anything (I never carry cash anymore). The whole incident gave me a negative impression on this theater. Anyway, should I have told an employee at the theater that there was a homeless woman begging in the lobby?

Should I have reported to management the homeless person begging in the theater?movie theater

Absolutely. The lobby is the theater's property, and no beggar has the right to panhandle inside of it unless he or she has the express permission of management. Let management know that either they do something about this or you'll take your business elsewhere -- you will see results!

Should I have reported to management the homeless person begging in the theater?tickets opera theater

I feel strong support for the homeless and their efforts to stave off the desperation that dogs them.

If I didn't have any money/food for her, I'd have not prevented her from trying to obtain her necessities.
Theres alot of people "hurting" right now Dear..

if you didn't say anything,god bless you.if it really bothered you that much though,just let it go this time %26amp; if the next time you go to the same theater %26amp; she's there again...at least give her fair warning before "telling on her".I've found most of these people don't really want the money for food but other things like alcohol,drugs..etc..any time I get approched by them,I actually go %26amp; buy them a burger or whatever...

No matter what anyone tells you you don't go hungry in America unless you're lazy..No money ever...food if you can afford it!
It shouldn't give you a negative impression of the the theater, it should give you a negative on society. Maybe the woman was their and trying to keep warm, get some money to feed her kids. There are a number of reasons people are homeless nowadays.Not ALL are are drunks and drug users. People lose their jobs, then their homes. We who have jobs and homes and families should not look down upon those less fortunate, we should try and help. Not carrying cash, ask her if you could buy her something from the snackbar with your credit card. Remember, what if that person was Jesus and he was asking for food, What would you do. Remember that the woman is a human being and should be treated as such, not looked down upon.
In my opinion, unless the homeless lady was harassing you or was overly aggressive, there's simply no reason to "report" her to management. While many homeless people can be aggressive in their attempts to get money from people, this lady sounds as though she was at least respectful and didn't badger you in any way. Why would you want to take even more from her than what she's lost? Her situation very well may be her own fault and I am not saying we are to blame for people's homelessness, I am just saying that we should have a tad bit more compassion for people. You report roudy teenagers, rude employees, dirty bathrooms, but you don't report a poor lady seeking shelter and a little support from people around her. I am not saying that you are a terrible person with no heart, but I think you missed the point of the whole situation.
I understand wanting to report her but remember in some cities and states, panhandling (which is what she was doing) is a crime and this woman could have been arrested if the management really wanted that issue. And in the least the management would have made a scene. I feel kind of this way too when I see homeless people but in the end just let it go.
Yes, report it.
Be aware that you cannot tell by a person's appearance whether they have a home. Some street people and bag ladies do have a regular place to sleep.

Anyway, yes you should have told the manager that there was a panhandler in the lobby disturbing patrons. This is not for a low-level employee to handle, asking someone like that to leave can get ugly in a hurry and only a manager should be expected to deal with it.

What is the right to put up a home theater speakers?

I have deided to buy a latest surround receiver for my home theater.Is it still good to use the speakers of my Component that has a 5.1 channel? or i need to buy a new one? Is there a big difference when im using the old one speakers compare to buy a new one speakers? I dont mind the expenses for the new one,all i need is to satisfy when we're watching movies together.

I would not use speakers that are not matched to the receiver, because they are designed as a unit, and it's best not to fool with it. I would just sell the whole system %26amp; buy the one you want with the speakers that go with it. That's my honest opinion.

Little People Big World Movie?

Has anyone heard anything about the Little People Big World movie? Is it supposed to be directed by Ron Howard, when is it coming out, and will it be based on their lives played by actors or will they act in it? When will it come out and will it be in theaters, go straight to video, or be on TV? Will it be like a documentary on little people or a scripted movie? Please give any information you know.

A total waste of money. In alot of them you can actually see the heads in the audience. Terrible quality, actually watching them can ruin the movie for you.
Just some guy inside the theater with a camera. I hate them. The quality is poor, and you see the patrons shadows during the movie. I vowed never to buy any after viewing one bought by a friend.
Some are taped with a camera. Others are just copied off the original.

What is the title of the movie?

Can u help me? I saw this movie trailer the other day and it looked really interesting, but I can't find the title. I researched it all day and nothing. All I know is it was really artistic and dramatic, it comes out in theaters this year 2007, and it was a tragic love story. I also know that the movie trailer started with a man on a beach singing "Is anybody going to listen to my story?". Any ideas? I know it isn't much info, but I'm desperate! Just think of it as a scavenger hunt.

I want to download and probly will to watch the movie but

~~~ONCE YOU DOWNLOAD, HOW DO YOU WATCH IT?~~~
LIMEWIRE movie Download?concert venue
It is stored in your shared limewire library.
From the limewire downloading/search screen, there is this tab up top that says library.
You can go there and see what you have downloaded so far.
If you cannot find it just do a quick "search" from the windows start up menu to search your entire computer for the movie.
Once you find the movie you can launch the file.
If that doesn't work it usually means your default media player cannot play the movie.
You can try dragging the file onto your desktop and right click to get "open with." If you have several media players such as quicktime, wmv, windows media player etc. you might want to try each one to see if it works.
If that doesn't work you should delete that file because it might be corrupted.
Personal Note: Limewire can be very bad for your computer. Also Universe 2007 Dvdrip sounds fishy. I don't think the actual DVD is out yet... It is probably a bad bootleg.
it will be stored in your libary off downloads somwhere at the top of limwire and saved in a folder on your documents most likely and depending on what format you downloaded it in , it should play on windows media player but if it fails go to Alluc.org u can watch films there but not donwload them.
it should be inside the shared folder in your documents and setting folder
download it strait to itunes, the you can watch it, and u can put it on your ipod
I ask b'cuz I wanted to treat a long distance friend to dinner and a movie w/ a friend of hers who actually lives near her. So I'm going to get her a movie theater giftcard, like for AMC or something. But how much would be enough to put on the card so that two ppl can comfortably enjoy movies and snacks w/o having to use ne of their own money. And a dining gift card but I don't know what type of food she likes. Like what if I get her a red lobster's gift card and she's allergic to seafood? And how much should I put on the dining gift card so her and a friend could enjoy drinks, food, and desert on me?
She is understandably angry and resentful when her father cancels the gala event. Her outlook is completely changed, however, when she accidentally uncovers her father's secret - he has never become a U.S. citizen. "
Puff the magic dragon.
Dawn of the Dead scared the sh** out of me b/c sitting there watching it made me feel like it was actually happen at that moment or that it would happen
I'm pretty sure it did pretty good in theaters despite its goryness which i was NOT ready for ya see i didn't know it was rated R when i went to see it with a friend until we got there.
the ring
Ok, maybe not the scariest move ever, but The Exorcism of Emily Rose totally creeped me out and I had bad dreams for nights after. I also found myself waking at 3am (the devil's hour)
"Hostel"..it didnt really scare me i just thought it was really gross
It, Stephen King.. the movie. it's that one about 'Pennywise' the clown. really really scary. i stopped watching scary movies after that.
Scary *and* violent is tough, since both words are pretty subjective and there are tons of slash and gore flicks. Off hand, the first movies that come to mind, are "The Deer Hunter", "Hostel", and "The Devil's Rejects", to name a few.
The Exorcism of Emily Rose
the first nightmare at elm street
umm... good question.
cry wolf %26amp; the hills have eyes r pretty grusome. so is Friday the 13th.
idk how they did in theaters. srry
'The Grudge 1' and 'Gothika'
The Bad Seed. The girl has absolutely no conscience. Also It, cuz clowns are scary.
Final Destination 2 it didn't do that good at the movie theatre but i found it bloody scary
Well the most violent movie would have to be "Hostel" but "Cabin Fever" I would also say had not as much voilent's but way too much blood and gore.
What movie 2 go c 2nite for Girls Night Out?
i recently had my heart broken so my girls have decided on a girls night out. they were thinking movie then go out for dessert and just talk. so i want opinions on wat to go see, heres wats in theaters [opinions on wat u saw]...ty
The Bucket List (PG-13, 97 min.)
Definitely, Maybe (PG-13, 105 min.)
Fool's Gold (PG-13, 95 min.)
Jumper (PG-13, 90 min.)
The Spiderwick Chronicles (PG, 97 min.)
Step Up 2: The Streets (PG-13, 98 min.)
What movie 2 go c 2nite for Girls Night Out?comedy club
Fool's Gold was really good and funny, yet a little bit romantic. Definitely, Maybe sounds really good, and like it would be a good chick flick. Step Up 2 sounds good and I want to see it, but it doesn't sound like a good choice to see after what happened to you.
What movie 2 go c 2nite for Girls Night Out?sheet music opera theater
If you can see - ENCHANTED - it sounds like a GREAT chick flick - my wife went and saw it and it sounded GREAT.
Under Siege?
Robocop?
Demoltion Man?
Will they do?
i heard fools gold was really good...not sure if u would want to see a couples movie tho...i just saw cloverfield...pretty kewl i think
jumper was ok, bad ending though. and step up 2 was better. if u wanna get ur mind off him, go see vantage point cus its complicateed and itll take some brain work to follow. if u feel like moping (which ur totally entitled to) u can see a chick flick like definietly maybe or the spiderwick chronicles. i dont recomend u see fools gold or something romantic like that, cus it might make u feel bad about him. but forget him honey! u dont need him =)
try fools gold or even maybe 27 dresses.....definitely, maybe also. those are some chick flicks that are funny and if you had your heart broken just recently, i would recommend fool's gold
I'd say The Bucket List. Jack Nicholson always delivers.Besides how can you be depressed watching two older, not so good looking men trying to score and found out the meaning of life at the same time?Looks funny to me.Stay away from the sappy and the comedy romances.You're not ready for them yet. Unless you like it when people ask "what's wrong?" while you are trying not to cry.Jumper looks like a renter.Spiderwick if you are 14 and under. Step Up should have jumped off a bridge.I loved There Will Be Blood. Maybe that's because I like long twisted time epic films, and Daniel Day Lewis is awesome, and my favorite actor. Vantage Point looks interesting,stress-full,and-confusing at the same-time. You know, one of those movies where you think you know what the ending is going to be and then the 360. You leave the theater thinking "what just happened?". Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins looks like rental material too. You could also just go out for dinner and a little flirting on the town. It's kind of hard to do that in a dark theater with a hundred people surrounding you.Get out have fun.Heart-breaker could try to come back , give him something to be jealous about.
Does upgrading the cables used to hook up home theater systems make a big difference?
I recently bought a new tv a 720p 56" JVC rear projection TV as well as a 5.1 channel Pionner home theater system w/ a dvd player. I'm curious if I upgrade the cables to hook the system up to the TV if that would improve the sound/video quality? If so what cable would be used to do this the TV has the following inputs:
2 S-video (1 side, 1 rear); 2 component video; 3 composite video (1 side, 2 rear); 1 PC; 2 HDMI and 3 audio (1 side, 2 rear)
Also I'm not sure if this would be an issue as i have not tried it yet but I also have a PS3 that i will be hooking up via HDMI to the TV and want to be sure that the surround sound will work when I'm playing games or watching Blue Ray movies. Thanks in advance for your help!!
Does upgrading the cables used to hook up home theater systems make a big difference?concerts
Yes, a quality cable does make a difference, but don't get sucked in by some hundred dollar monster cable.
Does upgrading the cables used to hook up home theater systems make a big difference?headache opera theater
Yes the cables do count and based on your specs I would use the super video or composite hook ups for the TV and the PS# on the HDMI
Yes Big Big difference I use HDMI and Component video
You should use the HDMI cable from your PS3 to the TV (get the lowest cost HDMI cable), but also connect the digital audio output from the PS3 to the Pioneer digital audio inputs (either optical or coax). It is not clear if the TV will output digital audio from its HDMI input; you will have to look in the user manual for the TV to see what the digital audio output from the TV will support. You should also be connecting the digital audio output from the TV to the pioneer, so you can get surround sound from broadcast TV. If the TV passes the digital audio from the HDMI to its digital audio output, then you do not need the optical/coax connection from the PS3 to the Pioneer.
I can tell you that the cables you buy at the store are mostly a rip-off...You should make your own out of "RG6" cable...The RG6 has ZERO signal loss up to 100 feet...So 3 feet between your DVD and TV will be fine...Here's a link to show you how to do it: http://www.whydoesmyhometheatersuck.com/...
And I know that HDMI is the "big bad" cable of the future, but it won't always give you the best connection...There are other things to consider...Click this to see what I'm talking about: http://www.whydoesmyhometheatersuck.com/...
But your JVC can't show a "1080p" signal...That's all HDMI is good for these days...Your TV can only show "720p"...So you might save that $150 on an HDMI cable...Or like we suggested, try it both ways and see for yourself which gives you the SHARPER picture...Here's a link explaining differences in picture quality: http://www.whydoesmyhometheatersuck.com/...
And I can assure you that on our $100 "boom-box" at only 7 watts per channel, RG6 made a TREMENDOUS sound improvement...Think how much more it can do for your Pioneer...But don't take my word for it...Go and try it yourself.
There seems to be 3 different Transformer DVD's. One is a basic "Movie" DVD with no special features. The second is obviously the one with all the goodies and finally there is the HD-DVD. On the basic "Movie" DVD (pictured with Optimus Prime, Megatron, and Bumblebee) The trailers are at the end of the movie... after the credits. You can check out a couple of trailers like "Iron Man".
I think that the reason the release date was changed was because the distribution company was changed so they had to retool ad campaigns and stuff like that. FC acquired domestic theatrical rights last year at Toronto. It set release dates in April and then again in August before pulling the plug as part of its move to focus on its core business of smaller-budget indies. So Summit Entertainment has acquired North American distribution rights to Penelope
Official Zelda Movie Announced
March 31st, 2006 at 11:54 pm by The Missing Link
In the wake of the unveiling of the trailer for the unofficial Zelda movie, it seems as if Nintendo has decided to finally follow suit.
Nintendo today has officially announced the coming of a Zelda movie and has a teaser trailer up on the official movie site. The movie, simply titled The Legend of Zelda is scheduled to come out this winter in the last months of 2006. Unlike the unofficial movie, Nintendo鈥檚 film is not slated to be a rehash of any of the games so far released; instead, we are going to be seeing a brand new story unfold on the silver screen. However, Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf will be in the film. Casting information at this point is very sparse, but we do know Johnny Depp will be playing Link, Jessica Simpson will be playing Zelda, Patrick Stewart will be Ganondorf, and Morgan Freeman will be playing the part of some new, unannounced character.
I don鈥檛 know about you guys, but I have mixed feelings about this. I鈥檓 of the opinion that a Zelda movie could be a really powerful thing鈥?but at the same time, it is pretty much playing with fire. The teaser trailer shows very little of what the movie will be about, and I鈥檓 really worried about the project, especially with the casting of this. Nayru love Johnny Depp for playing an excellent Capt. Jack Sparrow, but Link? Colour me unimpressed.
Filed under News, Nintendo
Nintendo are adamant that an official Legend of Zelda movie will not be made. That means that fans who wish to see a Zelda movie have been left to their own devices. However, most of these never progress beyond mere ideas, a couple of pages of script, or maybe a short video of a guy running around with a sword.
The Hero of Time (The Legend of Zelda) is an independent Zelda movie that a small group of producers and film buffs called "BMB Finishes" have been making. They have been working on this movie for the past two years, and it is now nearing completion. It is a fully independent production that when finished will be promoted as a festival piece, as well as being a fan film. All of the people working on the movie are big fans of the Zelda series, and they have put a ton of creativity and effort into this film. The movie is being directed by Joel Musch, who also produces the film along with David Blane.
The movie's story is roughly based off that of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Link, who has been raised by the Kokiri, is sent to Hyrule City by the Great Deku Tree. Once there, he meets Princess Zelda who tells him what the Triforce symbol on his hand means and exactly who he is,
Meanwhile, Ganon has arranged a banquet for the king, but this gesture, seemingly in good faith, is actually a part of his evil scheme. At the banquet, the king is poisoned, and Ganon overthrows the kingdom. Link flees to the Temple of Time and takes the Master Sword, but is shocked when he finds he has suddenly traveled into the future. Link discovers that it is a bleak future, for Ganon has destroyed the land, and so he sets out to find Zelda. Along the way he meets Sheik, and learns that he will need the help of the sages to defeat Ganon. After he defeats demons that are guarding the sages, Link returns to Hyrule where he confronts donzens of Gerudo warriors and ultimately fights Ganon.
Along the way, other characters from the game make appearances, including Saria, Impa, Malon and Talon.
The movie has already been filmed and is nearing the final stages of production, with just animation and CGI left to complete.
more information on this link http://www.legendofzeldaseries.com/main....
I have not heard anything about it but that would be cool.I love the Zelda games so it would be neat to see it made into a movie.
Cool I hope it will be as good as Lord of the Rings and The Chronicles Of Narnia.
I've heard about it sounds like it might be good but since it's not an official Legend of Zelda movie and is not endorsed by Nintendo I just pray that it doesn't turn out to be another piece of crap movie like that lame a s s Super Mario Brothers movie. Which in my opinion was a total disgrace the entire Mario Brothers series (and that's putting it lightly) because I'm sorry but The Legend Of Zelda is just too good of a series to be disgraced in such a manner and whoever's creating this film is going to have some awfully high standerds to live up to and the actor playing Link is going to have some awfully big boots to fill.
Yes. Its probably going to come out 3-2 months from now. Hope this helps :)
Yes it will be out on DVD... They don't make VHS or Laser Discs anymore so the studio has little choice as to what format to put it out in... I guess they could also put it out in HDDVD or Blue Ray... but they'd be shooting themselves in the foot if they only did a hi-def format since the market share is so small at the moment.
If you are asking when will it be out... Don't know yet. Hasn't been announce to my knowledge. Give it 3 to 6 months and you should see it.
In a few months it will most likely be on DVD
Of course it will come out on DVD. I don't know when but every movie, even limited release movies, come out eventually.
What do you think of the RCA-RTD160 Home Theater System?
I earned an award at work that allows me to pick from a group of prizes. One of the items I am looking at is the RCA 160 (see link below).
It has been a number of years since I have looked into a system and I don't really know what is good and what is not. I used to with 'it', then they changed what 'it' was and now what I am with is no longer 'it' and what is 'it' seems strange and confusing to me. So I thought I would reach out and let someone who has a better idea of what is good help me out.
More details. I have three kids. This system will be used for listening to kids movies and CD's. Occasionally my wife and I will watch something grown up, but not too often. Keep that in mind.
So, is this an OK player for what I want to do?
http://www.amazon.com/RCA-RTD160-Home-Th...
What do you think of the RCA-RTD160 Home Theater System?events
This will be good for if you just want to just have a player.
It wont be;
A) loud,
B) very Clean at loud outputs,
C) good sounding for parties,
D) overall wont sound very good.
Will;
A) blow easily if you turn it up too loud,
B) will play music, movies and games at moderate sound lvls
C) do all that for free.
In my opinion, 30 watts per speaker is very weak. My first stereo I bought was 100 watts per speaker. And it was like $130, It was bout 2 years ago, and i was 14. THe wattage matters for volume, Dvd player/AMP combo most of the time doesnt sound as good. Because they go for space saving, but a good system needs more room than wat most DVD/AMP combos offer.
So in answer to your question, yes it will do wat you want. But later, it will make u wanting more. And then is when you invest into nicer equipment, and if you do get interested, contact me. There are many, many factors that will affect your decision.
One step at a time. No need to call. Even people in wheel chair's don't call! They're ready for you since the law made them accommodate handi-capped people 30 years ago. You can take a spot next to the wall and lean those baby's, or sit up front and place in front of you on the floor. No one walks around in the front, unless it's the Rocky Horror Picture Show. What is the best movie you've seen this month (November '07) in the theaters or on DVD?
Watched "American Gangster" at the theatre and REALLY enjoyed it.
I've heard really good stuff about "No Country for Old Men" - but haven't gotten to see it yet.
As far as DVD goes - I've got quite a ridiculous sized collection... just last weekend I watched "Apollo 13" ... "300" ... "the Matrix" ... "Con Air" ... and "Dark City" just because I felt like being entertained during a weekend at home.
I hope the recent film, Lars and the Real Girl (2007), wins an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. Lars' (Ryan Gosling, The Notebook) premise of presenting himself and his Internet-ordered doll as a couple to the community is surprisingly original, and it works. Moreover, the movie takes the viewer through a spectrum of emotions, hilarity, touching compassion and vicariously sweet romance.
The cinematographers do a great job with Gosling, getting intimately close to his painfully shy, innocent character who slowly, self-consciously reveals the secret of his reasons for being so intimacy-averse. What a contrast!
I hope Gosling gets the Best Actor award, and that Emily Mortimer, as Karin, gets the Best Supporting Actress award: As Lars' sister-in-law, she expresses well - through her face and physical movements - her frustration with being unable to connect with her isolated brother-in-law, practically hurling herself - and her unconditional love - at Lars.
And Patricia Clarkson's (Far from Heaven) Dagmar, as the town doctor, sympathetically plugs into Lars' world without raising an incredulous eyebrow, and delivers some great knowing wisdom, as well as a properly restrained, nurturing relationship, neither suffocating nor too distant.
2. No contest in the thriller department: "No Country for Old Men" (2007), which is the latest effort by the Coen Brothers. Stars Tommy Lee Jones (The Fugitive), Javier Bardem (Before Night Falls) and Josh Brolin.
The Coens have outdone themselves in producing another masterpiece, even better than Blood Simple and Fargo.
It kept me on the edge of my seat for the whole movie. Whenever Chigurh (Bardem) is on screen, you're watching a living, breathing menace. It is not for the squeamish. My arms were tingling, and I was gasping in amazement!
The Coens use no music; it's all in the action. Sometimes it's in the close-ups of the tiniest movements that pull you intimately close and horrify or shock you: their attention to detail and their pacing are extraordinary. They give you such visual detail that needs no dialogue, so the tension builds in the deafening silence.
Go with a friend so that you can discuss all the surprises, twists and turns, including the unique ending, afterward. It's seamless, and it'll really make you think.
This is the best thriller I've seen since Silence of the Lambs, maybe the best ever. Enjoy! :-D
Checking the film-time listings, yet? :)
Is blades of glory any good? is it like any other will ferrell movies?
i'm torn between seeing at my town's $2 movie theater or paying $6.50 to go see Transformers? Is a good movie or it like any other typical Will Ferrell movie? Or should I just wait for it to come out on DVD?
Is blades of glory any good? is it like any other will ferrell movies?greek theater
You still have a 2 dollar theater!
The answer to your questions are yes, yes, and see them both.
Is blades of glory any good? is it like any other will ferrell movies?performing arts show opera theater
it's kind of funny, but you should wait.
My roommate's brother went to see Blades of Glory and said it was awesome. He's not usually a Will Ferrell fan because he says most of Ferrell's characters are better in 15 minute sketches, not for 2 hours in a movie. He said that he was belly laughing the whole time. Hope this helps!
Well, my friends think Blades of Glory is hilarious and it got a lot of good ratings. Yet one of my friends said that Transformers was cool. Why not see both, there probably great movies.
It's funny, but it wasn't worth my money to see it in the theatre. You should just wait until it comes out on DVD.
Transformers was very good. Where do you live it cost me $9 a person for a movie here.
wait for the dvd to come out
Whats the difference between digital and regular movies?
at the movie theater theres clvoerfield digital and just cloverfield whats the difference between them?
Whats the difference between digital and regular movies?palace theatre
Regular movies (also known as analog movies) are on film stock. They go through a film projector to show them.
A digital movie is actually a bunch of 1s and 0s, digital information, which gets sent on a disk or through a connection to a machine which stores them as computer data. This machine is attached to a projector, which converts the data into a picture and sound. There is no film involved.
Most movies are shot on digital cameras and are later put onto film. Yes, there are still some films that use film as the primary medium of recording, but there are fewer of them all the time; film is expensive, and they shoot a lot of film to make a movie. Digital cameras are less expensive to use, although they may cost a bit to buy. However, some people prefer the look of film, especially for certain types of movies.
As to which is preferable, I have never seen a film as both digital and analog, so I can't give you that expert an answer. I can say that I have never seen anything that made me say, "wow, that digital is cool." The one noticable difference to me is that digital is cleaner after multiple showings, whereas every trip through the projector is a potential for film to get scratched or damaged. (I saw one film which had a lot of scratches and the such, and that was just the way that I wanted it for that film, since it was based on a twenty-year-old book. The thing is, I wished that I had known if that was the copy of the film or if that was an effect that was done to the original.)
I've seen critics say that all movie theatres should be required to buy digital projectors and to show all movies in digital projection, and then they will complain that the theatres which show movies with digital projection have the wrong settings for the projectors, etc. It's a huge capital expenditure, and I don't blame the theatres for holding on to film projectors as long as they can. There is a bit of a circular problem here, as studios won't release more digital movies until more theatres show digital movies, and the theatre owners are waiting for the studios to release move movies with digital projection before they buy more digital projectors.
If they are charging the same price, take your pick. If they charge extra for digital projection, I'd save my money and see it on film.
Why do peoples leave garbage at the Movies?
When leaving a movie theater, peopel leave there garbage. Why can't they pick it up and throw it out while leaving. Do they assume that;s the job of the Ushers (It's not, they are there for other cleaning reasons), or are people so lazy and don't care. Would you leave your home after dinner that way. Please explain why people can't just pick up the garbage they bring in.
Why do peoples leave garbage at the Movies?state theatre
A combination of laziness and entitlement (ex. hey, I paid $6 for this popcorn, so I'm not going to throw the bag away.)
Why do peoples leave garbage at the Movies?theater opera theater
...because they just saw some on the screen
wOrd
Because they are lazy and their mother didn't teach them any manners.
Pure laziness- because their mother's aren't there to clean up after them!
It's a token of appreciation for the janitorial staff.
good question. well i think it's b/c they see everyone else doing it, they think it is the jobs of the ushers and because it's so dark, i think they're afraid to feel around on the floor for their trash b/c it's really gross down there.
They prefer to assume that part of the theater "service" is janatorial services -- even though they know deep down that they should pick up their own trash.
People are pigs.
because they are not at home and know that people come in and clean up after them before the next group of slobs come in.
People who do this have no manners. I hate to see what their houses look like on the inside.
Dude........
It's their wish.
Unfortunately people do not always act as we should. Not all of the time is it done for just being messy but thoughtlessness. Manners are not always observed by one and all. And then we just have the lazy ones.. then also the one that think it is there right to be messy. and will do know matter what.
They are just lazy and they thought that someone should clean up after them because they paid to get in.
Because their parents never taught them any better!
Every once in a while I imagine a wrapper will fall out of someone's bag without their knowledge, I imagine. However, leaving a huge tub of popcorn or something is pretty obvious. Maybe you're right that they think it's the ushers' job.
Because of their lack of good manners..Maybe they do the same at home too...who knows?
It happens because a lot of people are rude and lazy. It annoys me to no end when people at fast food restaurants leave their trash on tables as well. The damned trash can is right there. Use it!
And they wonder why the price of admission keeps going up...
no home training some people feel like other folks get paid to clean and some folks are just plain rude have you ever noticed that at the coffee houses Starbucks for instance they'll put their sugar and cream in and leave the garbage right there what the hell is that i know I'm gonna catch hell for this 99% of the people who do this is white i know i have done retail and customer service for over 10 yrs and you guys are THE most rudest of all 2nd place goes to the Indians not native but India's finest
Because that's how they live at home, trashy. Sad but true!
I always throw my trash away. It's not that difficult to do.
Just plain lazy
Because people in general are raised with no manners, as slobs. They figure it is your job...so why should they pick up after themselves. It's not right, but that is the way of society...
Because they are pigs.
Because there rude.
I worked in a movie theater for several years when I was younger. Let me tell you it is total disrespect to leave garbage for someone else to pick up. You would not believe the messes people make! I understand spilling some popcorn or candy. That is understandable but for God's sake don't smear candy and pour soda on the backs of chairs. For all those out there who leave their garbage REMEMBER.... it's not only the ushers who clean the theaters between shows. The concession attendants also take part in this job. Do you really know if they washed their hands?????????????
For the same reason they don't return their shopping cart to the cart park, they think they have already pd too much for the groceries/entertainment. What they don't realize is that if everyone did their part, it would save business money, that they theoretically would pass on to consumers.
Laziness, assume cleaning cost included in price of ticket, etc...
Laziness and a basic disrespect for their fellow human being. Something that seems to be more common today. All we can do is not do this ourselves and encourage are family and friends to follow the same courtesy.
Because they are Nasty Hogs!
Good question. I think it depends on how people were raised. I was always raised to "leave a place better than you found it". This typically meant State Parks and such, but it has carried over to all aspects of my life. Imagine how much better ANYwhere would be, if 90% of people felt (and behaved) this way!
you said it in your question....... just imagine their homes... but honestly, at the movies, they know someone will clean up after them.
i love/hate scary movies too. like i hate when movies are graphic, and this one isnt at all. i went to see it last night, it was sooo good! except there were like a million little kids screaming just for the hell of it. so, that got annoying, but it was really good. if you go with friends you should be fine, its like an interesting/ scary movie. like the guy just keeps poping up. thats like the only thing thats really scary!
Yes i was scared but i had a real good friend with me so that made it better. anyway everyone was scared and like holding on to peoples arms and stuff. but all in all i am glad i went to see it cause it is a really good movie even if it is a little freaky.
but if you saw those movies you should be okay, just close your eyes and cover your ears if you get real scared. I had to! but if i was you i would be sure to see it theatures b/c movies are always better there. so just go scared or not.
i hate scary movies and i get scared easily to but i really want to see prom night i think you should go see it
hey wats up you should see it in the movie theater because its better and much more cooler its not that scary because i saw the movie on the second day it came out twice and it was awsome !!!
i just seen it yesterday in theaters with my friend its not really scary its just kinda freaky because you dont know whats gonna happen but im so gonna se it again i cant wait til it comes out on dvd but i hope that answers your ? =]
i saw it friday night with a couple of friends, and it was good. i think it would be worth you seeing it. most of it was just, oh my god i know what's gonna it's gonna be scary. then it turns out to be nothing. maybe it was just the people in the theater or what, but we all laughed more than we screamed because of the big deal we made out of lamp shades, shower curtains, etc. lol. tottaly worth it.
Whats your favorite treat to eat or drink at the movies?
We all have our memorable movies we've all seen. From King Kong to the Lord of the Rings. But, I wonder if any of you have a particular favorite you buy to eat and drink at the movie theater. For me I have eaten by tradition Raisonettes since I was 6 years old and now am 36. So for 30 years I have been eating Raisonettes and still love em!!
Whats your favorite treat to eat or drink at the movies?the grand theater opera theater
I'm pretty simple. Popcorn and a soda will do.
popcorn, soda, and snocaps
Junior Mints and Sour Patch Kids for me - yum! Although, heavily buttered popcorn and a soda will do in a pinch.
Gummi bears with Sprite %26amp; lemonade mixed. Yay!
I love popcorn and M%26amp;Ms mixed
M%26amp;M's Peanut, Skittles, Popcorn, Nachos/Cheese with a Coke of course (between my daughter and I)
cant beat the hot dogs
PopCorn with a lot of Barbeque Flavour and a Pinch of Salt with a good fruit Juice ( In South Africa theres really nice Juice)
extra butter popcorn and a cherry icee. i put the popcorn in my mouth, take a sip of the icee and let the liquid melt the popcorn.
Popcorn, Milk Duds, and Sprite.
Raisonettes
i buy Nachos and coke... meanwhile my friend most of the time buy popcorns with caramel and the normal one and ask for the guy in the candy shop to mix them.
sour patch kids and a dr. pepper
Whenever my husband and I are able to go to the movies we go for the large combo deal where we get extra buttered popcorn and a Dr. Pepper to drink AND we get free refills. My husband was actually the one who started this one hehe. He puts the popcorn in between us and we are always grabbing fingers because we go in for some at the same time lol. Then he gets 2 straws so we can both take a drink at the same time if need be :)
Definately sno caps and extra butter popcorn. There's this theater here where I live and you can put your own butter on your popcorn. Heaven!!
Popcorn and a coke.
one of each
i love pizza and pepsi... or kfc's chicken strips when i go to the movies....
At the movies i like popcorn and soda, sometimes nachos, or popcorn with nacho cheese... movies are not the same since i have been on a diet...
if i rent movies to watch at home, i like pizza or doritos, ice cream and chocolate bars.
popcorn
Cookie dough bites, heavily buttered popcorn and a Dr.Pepper
Milkduds or popcorn and a soda like pepsi
hot tamales candy and heavy buttered popcorn mixed together to make cinnamon popcorn...yum
I always smuggle my own snacks in...beef jerky...chocolates...soda...
However, we really dont go to the movie theaters since we watch a lot of movies at home. I also dont like having to share my movie experience with people other then my family. I dislike rude, obnoxious people at movie theaters.
The Messangers?
There is evidence to suggest that children are highly susceptible to paranormal phenomenon. They can see what adults cannot, they believe what adults deny. In 'The Messengers', a suspense thriller starring Kristen Stewart, Dylan McDermott, Penelope Anne Miller and John Corbett, the Solomon family has left big city life for a secluded farm in North Dakota. Soon after they arrive at their new home, 16 year-old Jess and her 3 year-old brother begin seeing ominous apparitions that no one else can see, and are repeatedly attacked by something from the other side. Now they must try desperately to warn the rest of the family before it's too late.
I just turned seventeen, how do I see rated R movies?
I've refused to go to driver's ed and get my own license for personal reasons, and I just turned seventeen recently. I was wondering, if I don't have a license, how do I prove I'm 17 when I want to rent or go to the movie theater to see rated R movies?
go to the movies, go to the ticket booth. ask for the movie you want to see. Pay. recieve the ticket. go to see the movie! voila!
if you look old enough, they probably wont ask for a licence. my 13 year old friend got in by sayign she was 17.
good question but no idea!!
you can get an id card from the dmv
You can get a picture I.D. It's different from a driver's license.
Nobody checks your age at movie theatres. That has been my experience. You really are excited about seeing Rated R movies arent you? They are nothing special really.
get a state id card that proves you are 18. looks just like a license without the license part. dmv will help in cali, idk what its called in other states
Well if you have your permit for driving (you don't need you license) you can just show that. Or social security number which would be the only way if you do not have a license or permit. A long shot would be your school idea it might work but I do not know for sure. That's the only three I know hope it helps.
Do you have a school ID card? If you look 17 at the theater, they probably won't care, I'm 14 and I've gone with my friends and no adult and they let us in. They might ask when you rent though.
You can just get a state ID done, they do them at the MVA's in your state.
Bring your library card or student id.
Unless you have an ID or carry around your birth certificate you really can't. Do you have a school ID, you could try using that??
You could always bring your mom or dad along :-P
(jk)
You can use your school I.D. so that they can validate your birthdate
Wait 'till your 18?
Why don't you want to drive? It has to happen sometime, Dude. Unless you expect to get chauferred around your whole life. And if that's the case, can I be your friend??
Seriously, though, if you can't drive, how the (expletive deleted) do you expect to file taxes, set up a 401(k), hold down a job, become an adult? Take the wheel and wake up to life, man.
How can we get an independent film theater in our town?
A couple of students at my college would love nothing more than to see an independent film theater in our town, we get all the major blockbusters (i.e. Transformers, Superbad) which are good and all but we find ourselves driving an hour or sometimes more out of town just to see movies like Across The Universe or Lives of Others... Does anyone know the title of this movie?
I saw this movie several months ago on TV. I doubt it was ever released in theaters. It's about 3 mermaid sisters. Each one had a gift from their father. One had a hair comb that turned into a trident. One had a compact mirror that she could use to see things that were happening elsewhere, or something. The third had a tiara (I think) that made people obey her. One of the sisters' objects was stolen by a bar owner who forced her to work for him. I can't remember anymore details accurately enough to include.
Aquamarine
It is called Mermaids. Came out in 2003 as a television movie and starred Sarah Laine, Nikita Ager and Australian model Erika Heynatz as a trio of mermaid sisters who banded together to avenge their father's death.
